Excursion to Huoshizhai

On today's rest day, I went on a morning excursion with my relatives to the Huoshizhai National Geopark and National Forest Park. Jiabin, her family, and I had actually planned to come here two years ago, but because of strong winds we were met with closed gates and were unable to visit the attraction.

The weather was once again an uncertain factor today, as it rained quite heavily at times during the drive there. However, by the time we arrived, there were very few visitors, the rain had stopped, and we were able to climb the striking red rock formations, visit the Buddhist temples built into the cliffs, walk across a long bridge, and enjoy the spectacular views of the rocks.

In the afternoon, we all relaxed back in Guyuan, as it was now raining steadily. We ended the day in a way that perfectly suited the weather—it was not only wet but also quite cool at just 17°C—by enjoying a Chinese hot pot together.
